From orange to blue: a fresh look for MatchMyTrainer

If you've visited MatchMyTrainer before, you might have noticed a change. Orange was our original accent colour, used for buttons and highlights against the dark backgrounds. We're now using blue as that accent, and I think it feels cleaner, more modern, and easier on the eye.

I wanted the design to feel more like the product I'm building: something familiar, straightforward, and comfortable to use. Blue feels like a better fit for that direction, especially against the dark backgrounds I'm very attached to. You'll see it in the main buttons, links, and highlights as you move around the site.

A look that fits MMT

In my post about why I built MatchMyTrainer, I talked about wanting people to sign up and feel that things make sense. The design is part of that. Whether you're checking a class booking on your phone or spending a little longer setting up your services, I want the pages to feel like they belong together and the next step to be easy to spot.

The move to blue is one part of getting that feel right. I like the way it works with the darker panels and white text, giving the buttons enough presence without the whole page competing for your attention. Dark mode is still very much part of MMT, so anyone hoping this was the announcement of a bright white website will have to forgive me.
